Projects

Board Game Project!

For this project, we worked in a group of 3 to make our own board games.  To create this project we used photoshop, cardboard, circuitry, and paper. We learned about how to make parallel and series circuits, as well as how to use use photoshop and make a good theme.  I thought this project was enjoyable because we were able to work as a team and make a pretty cool game.

I made the board, theme, most of the circuitry, and the spinner.

Desmos Project!

Picture
For this project we worked on our own to make an image of our choice out of equations. To create this project we used desmos and learned about linear equations. I thought this project was fun because I got to choose what to make. this graph above took me many hours and 216 equations to complete.

30-Day challenge Blog!

For my 30-Day challenge I chose to do the butterfly challenge. If you don't know what that is it's a goalie challenge for ice hockey to get better at stance. I chose this because I want to get to the varsity team. I think that the biggest challenge will be stretching my legs, the reason is that the  position is a very unnatural position. What I hope comes out of this is I will get on varsity.

Geometric Music Project

In this project we made music using simple mathematical tools to make music, such as translation, reflection, dilation, and rotation. Essentially what we are doing is moving notes in such a way to make them have a melodic sound. for my music all that you have to do to recreate something like it is, make a beat with a pattern beat-maker, then yo will add synth on a piano roll or a vocal piano roll, after that you will need to adjust the sounds and placements of other beats to your liking.

Draft 1

For draft one, the main things that I tried to do was make it sound good. :) and I wasn't really focusing on the requirements, but it sounded great.

Draft 2

For my second draft  was putting all of my focus into the requirements. all of the spaces that you see are bisectors (image 1), because I am putting a pause in my beat, but still playing the melody. secondly I made a translation, which is moving one beat from one instrument to another (image 2). the third mathematical function that I did was reflection, which is when you cut a beat in the middle and then reflect it the other way (image 3). and lastly I made dilations, and what that means is, I took a beat and then moved it to another instrument, then turned it down to make it similar but different sounding (image 4 circled sound dial).

Final draft

For my final draft, It sounded kind of off so I decided to move back to making it sound as good as I could, and I honestly think that my effort is shown in the final product.
